My kids
Or rather... my middle son. Part of my craziness would definitely stem from my children's antics. Maybe I should retitle my blog. The adventures in the life of a single mom. Nah. I'll leave it. Most of the antics lately seem to occur around naptime. Today I put Nick down for a nap only to hear crying upstairs a few minutes later. I wondered why he hadn't opened the door to announce his heartwrenching trouble which has been his custom as of late. As I got about halfway up the stairs I discovered why. He was crying, "Mommy get me down from here." I still had no idea what I would find when I opened the door. He's been on his dresser before but has never had any problem getting down. So I open the door to find my 33 month old standing on the window sill about 2 ft off of the ground afraid to jump, crying, and holding a pull up in his hand. Now the order of things is still a little fuzzy. If he was stinky before he climbed up, why would he climb up on the window sill. But if he didn't perform that odiferous task until after he was up, why was he holding the pull up. The clearest answer I could get from him was that he wanted to see the trains. I'm still somewhat confused because I didn't hear any trains go by after putting him down for a nap. Beyond that I don't even think you can see the trains from his window. I will likely never now. It's not quite as bad as yesterday however. Yesterday he stood at the top of the stairs after being put down for a nap and hollered, "Mommy, I'm stinky" over and over until I came upstairs and changed him. A short time later he was again standing at the top of the stairs hollering. This time it was, "Mommy, I have a buger in my nose." This time I simply told him to go back to bed. About 5 minutes later I went upstairs to make sure he was in bed only to discover he wasn't even in the room. He was down the hall in Mommy's room where his sister was supposed to be sleeping. It gets better. He had found some of my chocolate left over from Christmas and had decided to share it with his 14 month old sister. Needless to say they were a mess. I must say I am looking forward to what tomorrow may bring.
